Morning on a glorious sunny morning. As i sit here listening to the sound of bell birds, and other bird sounds, it reminds me of why I love visiting Te Anau. It truely is a beautiful part of the world. Never mind the very changeable weather, and wind that feels like it has a polar blast, and the snow still on the mountains.
The fresh alpine air always works its magic, and refreshes the soul. We always find that we sleep alot here, and go home feeling refreshed and energised. There is some truth in the old adage that a change of air is good for your health.
Anyway it is only ONE MORE SLEEP, till our huge adventure.
Last minute preparations are being done, my suitcase is packed, Richard's almost, and we have all our travel documents, cash, and necessary extras.
This is a picture taken yesterday as we visited our favourite cafe in Te Anau: The Sandfly. It is always very busy and makes very enjyable coffee, or iced choclate - which is Abbey's favourite.
We also treated ourselves to a visit to the movies. Here is Te Anau it is a small delux theatre, with wide luxourious seats. We viewed, "The Mountain Between Us". All of us enjoyed the story and I managed not to fall asleep. Those who know me understand that this is a bit of a miracle, as my ability to miss most of the movie is legendary.
Anyway its time to get moving and drive back to Oamaru.
